Busiest Christmas Yet!

Well as I had previously posted we found out that Pete's father passed away from Melanoma cancer in his stomach and brain. As it came a lot quicker than expected he also did not have to suffer. This also got to bring the family together which was so great! We flew out Christmas night to Sacramento and spent a few days catching up with all of pete's brothers and sister and their family as they got in town. This also included a couple fun card games and lots of food. The boys also helped make a new stable for the horses as the old one collapsed... it was way past its time! Pete and 3 of his brothers got to dress their father which was a very spiritual experience for all of them as his right elbow that was always a lil stiff and didn't bend well.. well it still didn't bend well! hehe they got a chuckle out of it, but we know his elbow is now fully functional up there! We had a viewing sunday night for 3 hrs at the funeral home... note to self.. viewings only need to be 1-2 hrs at max (i kept the kids busy with treats of course!) Then on monday we had a funeral service at the church which was perfect. All the kids got to participate.. Ray and Mike spoke, John gave the eugopgaly (from zoolander) Mary and Janice's grandma Sang "I believe in Christ" as well as the grandkids who sang Familes can be together forever. The song that probably touched me the most was our closing song (which i conducted.. oh boy..) "Each life that touches ours for good." The best part about the meeting was that it really made you think about how important our families are in our lives!
On Tuesday we ALLL drove to St. George which is about 12 hrs or so from Sacramento. Pete decides after playing a game of hand and foot with the fam.. that we were going to leave THAT night instead of waiting till morninig with everyone else! haha so we packed up our stuff and brought our 12 yr old nephew Mitchell and made our way! I had the worst part of the drive from 3-5 am through the Mojave desert... eehhhhhhhh it was just dark for miles and miles and i had to wind up and down a mountain going sorta slow too... it was interesting. We also stopped by Vegas at 8 in the morning and i drove round vegas for a couple hours. I also got to do a few slots... i didn't get to do any gambling last time i went to vegas cause i wasn't old enough! so we did like a total of 5 bucks our whole trip and didn't have any luck.. oh well.. We finally made it to St. George around 3 and ate some panda express for lunch.. then slept in nice hotel beds for like 4 hrs after that! haha When everyone else started catching up with us we went swimming at the pool/hot tub at the hotel which was so nice!!
Wed. (new years eve) we woke up and went to TEASDALE UT! haha aka middle of nowhere.. but it was very pretty and very country!! But we got there before the rest of the group.. again.. and we got to play in the snow and on a little playground right by the cemetary before the burial service. The service was great with the 21 shot sallute (whatever its called) with our little neice playing taps on her trumpet- which she taught herself how to play! i was proud of her! The service was shortly ended and we took a little walk through the town with the 3 town dogs.. haha who knows whose they were.. and had a lunch at a cool church building built in 1918. After a few goodbyes we then made our way up to happy valley and met up with my bro Dean and his girlfriend Natalie who we had never met before.. and we had a good time eating some hibatchi and went to a weird artsy party for new years eve... it was different- but it was fun. We also saw Grandma cheesman and mazy along with my uncles Ross and Jay and their wives which was a treat! Then we made our way more north to watch GA football with petes' best friend John Davis from high school and got a huge Iceberg milkshake!! mmmmmmm
Then back in the car again for the forsyths up to Hill air force base to visit Brooke and Justin! we acctually stayed with them an extra night due to my illness.. ehh i hate being sick and it doesn't happen often.. but mommy to be brookie took care of me! and then i felt alll better!! :) mom would be proud! And then it SNOWED .. well in UT it always snows.. and it was alot! and it left us a nice layer and frozen wiper fluids before we made our way back through the desert of Nevada, and over the Sierras back to Sacramento! But before our beautiful trip to Cali ended we had to eat at In- n- Out just one more time!!
We also ran into a few surprises on the flight home as we volunteered our tickets in Pheonix and got 2 free round trip tickets for later when we return to UT for the forsyth family summer camp out! But all in all it was a wonderful trip and thank you for all your concerns and prayers for the forsyth family! We love you all!!

(pictures still aren't working on my computer.. sorry! and i have some really good ones too!!- check facebook!)
